Configuring Hold Types

A hold type is applied to a seat or set of seats to give them special status (e.g. performer hold, accessible seating holds). These seats can only be accessed by roles that have permission, generally for the purpose of selling them to customers who meet specific criteria. You can further grant access to held seats using promotional codes. For more information, refer to Associating Promotional Codes with Hold Types.

Once the hold types legend has been created:

  • It is available for creating hold templates as a part of configuring a venue.
For more information, refer to Working with Venue Templates.
  • The hold type’s colour represents the held seats on seat maps.
  • The hold type’s label is used to represent the zone on monochrome seat chart printouts in an alphanumeric format, rather than colour-coded.
  • Only roles associated with the hold type will be able to sell or change the held seat.
  • If a hold type is associated with a promotional code, only those customers with the code will be able to purchase the held seat.
For more information, refer to Associating Promotional Codes with Hold Types.
