Adding Sorting Criteria to a Body with Search Article

Two dropdowns have been added to the Content Mangement application Article|Basic page of Body with Search articles in AudienceView 6.8.3 HotFix 2. These fields allow users to select a sort field for the results that will override any rank or weighting.

To add sorting criteria to a Body with Search article, complete the following:
  1. Open the Content Management application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Articles tab.
    The Articles|Select page appears.
  3. Search for and select the  Body with Search article that you want to work with. For more information, refer to the Content Management - Articles|Search Page and Performing Searches.
    The Articles|Basic page appears.
  4. Select the search criteria field (defined fields from the Article|Criteria page) that you want to sort by from the 'Sort By' dropdown.
  5. Select the order in which you want to order the sorting:
    1. Ascending
    2. Descending
  6. Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the application updated the article.
  7. Click 'OK'.
The sort order is alphanumeric, sorting numbers before a letters.

When 'Sort By' is set to Date and 'Sort Order'  is set to Ascending, null dated events sort first. For Descending, they sort last.

When multiple 'Object Types' are sorted in the same article, they are displayed in the following order:
  1. The field being sorted, alphanumerically
  2. Ascending or descending
  3. Stored value item, gift, bundle, misc item, performance for ascending
When using a search term or search dates, the results are returned for the searched item in the sort order selected on the search article.

When selecting a filter, the results are returned in the sort order selected on the search article.
