Scanning Failures Report

The Scanning Failures report displays the number of failed ticket scans, the location those failed scans occurred, and the nature of the failure.

This report would be used to show any wrong performance scans or wrong gate scans, tickets used (errors in scanning in, scanning in/out, scanning out) and tickets not found.

Scanning failures include:

  • Ticket number does not exist: An invalid ticket number has been entered.
  • Unable to mark ticket - ticket is already taken: Ticket has already been scanned IN or OUT (based on your Scan Type).
  • Ticket does not belong to any of the selected performances: The ticket number is valid but not for performance(s) selected.
  • Unable to mark ticket(s) - Incorrect gate: Based on the gate you have selected, the ticket is not allowed access.
This report does not include cancelled tickets.

Scanning Failures Report Criteria

The following table illustrates the report criteria.

Criteria Description
Venue Enables you to filter the report by one or more venue selections.
Series Enables you to filter the report by the selected series.
Enter the series name and press ENTER or click to search for the series. For more information, refer to The Find Series Dialog Box.
Performance Code Enables you to filter the report by a specific performance.
Enter the performance code or click to search for the performance. For more information, refer to The Find Performances Dialog Box.
Miscellaneous Items Enables you to filter the report by a specific miscellaneous item.
Enter the miscellaneous item code or click to search for the miscellaneous item. For more information, refer to The Find Miscellaneous Items Dialog Box.
Scanning Date Format Specifies the date to use for the report:
  • Date Range
  • Previous 7 Days – This does not include today.
  • Today
  • Yesterday
    This is the date that the ticket was scanned.
Scanned From If you are entering a date range, this is the date from which data will be included in the report. This date is inclusive where the starting time will be 0:00:00 on the selected date.
Any value entered into this field will only apply if Date Range is used.
Enter a date or relative date into the field or click or to select the date or relative date.

Scanned To If you are entering a date range, this is the date to which data will be included in the report. This date is inclusive where the end time will be up to 23:59:59 on the selected date.
Any value entered into this field will only apply if Date Range is used.

Sort By Enables you to sort by one of the following criteria:
  • Failure Reason
  • Row
  • Scanned Gate
  • Section

Advanced Section

The following criteria is available in the advanced section:

Criteria Description
Performances From Enables you to filter for those performances that occur on or after the date entered.
The application will ignore your entry if you do not enter a value for Performances To date.
Enter a date or relative date into the field or click or to select the date or relative date.

Performances To Enables you to filter for those performances that occur on or before the date entered.
The application will ignore your entry if you do not enter a value for Performances From date.

The following image illustrates a sample report.



The Scan Failure Summary section displays the total scanning errors by error type for the selected date range. The Scan Failure Detail displays additional details about each scanning error.
