Obstructed View and Accessibility Messaging

You can create informative messages with images that will display in the Desktop (message only) and Online when a seat with an associated message is selected. If any messages have been configured in the Legends application, they will appear in the same pop-up message.

Messages appear in the Desktop:

  • On the Customer Services application Seat|Map page below the seat information at the top of the screen when a seat is hovered over.
  • On the Customer Services application Seat|Map page when the 'Update Changes' button is clicked.
  • On the Customer Services application Order|Summary page after the 'Order Summary' button has been clicked on the Seat|Map page.
  • On the Customer Services application Offer|Summary page after the 'Offer Summary' button has been clicked on the Seat|Map page.

Messages appear Online:

  • On the Select Your Seats page when a seat is hovered over.
  • On the Select Your Seats page at the bottom of the pop-up message that appears when a seat is selected (where the price type is selected).
  • On the Shopping Cart screen when the selected seat has been added to the order.

Messages can be set on the following pages and override each other in the following order:

  1. Venue Configuration - Performance Management|Seats Page
  2. Venue Configuration - Venue|Seats Page
  3. Venue Configuration - Venue|Sections Page

For more information, refer to Modifying Admission Marketing Data for a Single Performance and Modifying Admission Marketing Data for Multiple Performances.

Messages can also be set on price zones, hold types and fill zones. If configured, these messages will be combined together, and will be displayed above the messages configured in the Venue Configuration application. The messages can be set on the following pages:

Information
The Venue Configuration application Venue|Seats page's 'Sys Type' field's Obstructed value works independently from the 'Message' field (available as of AudienceView 6.8.11 HotFix 9 Release Notes and AudienceView 6.8.19).
Users can choose to omit Obstructed seats from their Desktop and Online best available searches. If a seat has been configured with a 'Message', but has not been identified as Obstructed  it will still be returned in a best available search even if the user has selected to omit Obstructed seats.
