Modifying a Fundraising Goal

Fundraising goals can be defined on funds, programs, campaigns and appeals. The steps below do not specifically outline the process of modifying goals on funds (Funds|Details page), but the procedure is identical.

To modify an existing fundraising goal, complete the following:

  1. Open the Funds Management application from the AudienceView Desktop.
    The Programs|Search page appears.
  2. Search for and select the program with the goal that you want to modify. For more information, refer to the Funds Management - Programs|Search Page and Performing Searches.
    The Programs|Program page appears.
  3. If you want to modify a goal on an existing campaign or appeal:
    • Select the campaign from the campaigns listed on the right-hand side of the programs section.
      The Programs|Campaigns page appears.
    • Select the appeal from the appeals listed on the right-hand side of the campaigns section.
      The Programs|Appeals page appears.
  4. Alter the fields applicable fields:
    1. Enter the date that you want to reach the goal in the 'Date' field or click to select a date.

    2. Enter the monetary amount that you want to raise in the 'Amount' field.
    3. Enter the number of donations that you want to receive to reach your goal 'Amount' in the 'Count' field.
    4. Enter the monetary amount that you will be spending to reach your goal (e.g. printing costs, telemarketing) in the 'Expenses' field.
  5. Optionally, you can redistribute a goal over the course of a number of months. In most cases, goals on funds and programs will not be distributed, but goals on campaigns and appeals might be.
    To distribute a goal:
    1. Click 'Monthly Distribution'.
      The Monthly Distribution window appears.
      All of the completed fields will be populated with the total values that appear in the blue header row.
      Caution
      All of the existing goals will be overwriteen by the information entered in the Monthly Distribution.
    2. Enter the total monetary amount that you want to raise over the course of the defined months in the 'Total Goal Amount' field.
    3. Enter the total number of donations that you want to receive to reach your 'Total Goal Amount' in the 'Total Goal Count' field.
    4. Enter the total monetary amount that you will be spending to reach your goal (e.g. printing costs, telemarketing) in the 'Total Goal Expenses' field.
    5. Enter the date that you want to start the monthly goal distribution from in the 'Start Date' field or click to select a date.

    6. Enter the number of months that you want to distribute the 'Total Goal Amount', 'Total Goal Count' and 'Total Goal Expenses' across in the 'Over How Many Months' field.
    7. Click 'OK'.
      If the 'Total Goal Amount', 'Total Goal Count' and/or 'Total Goal Expenses' cannot be evenly divided by the number of months that the goal is distributed across, the remainder will be added to the last month.
  6. Click 'Apply'
    A window confirms that the application updated the program, campaign, appeal or fund.
  7. Click 'OK'.
