Before You Begin
Before creating a PayPal payment method, ensure you have:
- Contacted your AudienceView customer success manager.
- Created roles to have access to the payment method. If these have not been created, you can assign them at any time.
For more information, refer to Application Security - Roles.
- Created a ticket template, if applicable. If this has not been created, you can assign it at any time.
For more information, refer to General Configuration - Tickets.
- Obtained your organization's PayPal merchant account information, particularly the user/vendor name and password.
Creating a PayPal Payment Method (with or without PayPal Express Checkout)
The PayPal Native gateway is used for PayPal payments made online, including PayPal Express Checkout and PayPal Bill Me Later payments. Refunds via the PayPal Native gateway can be performed via the AudienceView Desktop
Once you create a PayPal payment method it can be assigned to a sellable items and be used throughout AudienceView.
To create a new PayPal payment method, complete the following:
- Open the General Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
- Select the Payment Methods tab.
The Payment Methods|Search page appears.
- Click 'Create New'.
The Payment Methods|Basic page appears.
- Enter PayPal in the 'Name' field.
- Select PayPal from the 'Type' dropdown.
- Select PayPal Native from the 'Gateway' dropdown.
- Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/i/buttons/pp-acceptance-large.png into the 'Logo' field.
- If you also want to configure PayPal Express Checkout, complete the following:
- Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_xpressCheckout.gif into the 'Shopping Cart Button Image' field.
This is the image that will display as the 'Express Checkout' button. If this field is left blank, the button will not appear in AudienceView Online and PayPal Express Checkout will not be enabled.
- Select Supports Express Checkout from the 'Options' field.
- Complete the remaining applicable fields.

Caution
Once you save the payment method, you cannot modify the 'Type' field. |
- Click 'Create'.
A window confirms that the application created the payment method.
- Click 'OK'.

Hint
If the PayPal Native - Payment Gateway is already in use/has already been configured, you do not need to take any further action.
If the PayPal payment gateway has not been configured, proceed to Step 12. |
- Open the Registry application from the AudienceView Desktop.
- Navigate to the System::Configuration::Payment Gateways::PayPal Native node.
- Enter the user name associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'User' fields.
- Enter the password associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'Password' field.

- Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the application updated the Registry.
- Click 'OK'.
Creating a PayPal Bill Me Later Payment Method

PayPal Bill Me Later is only applicable if the default currency is set to use US dollars (USD) in the Registry application System::Configuration::Currencies node. |

Once you create a PayPal payment method, you can create a PayPal Bill Me Later payment method.
To create a new PayPal payment method, complete the following:
- Open the General Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
- Select the Payment Methods tab.
The Payment Methods|Search page appears.
- Click 'Create New'.
The Payment Methods|Basic page appears.
- Enter Bill Me Later in the 'Name' field.
- Select PayPal from the 'Type' dropdown.
- Select PayPal Native from the 'Gateway' dropdown.
- Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/btn/btn_bml_SM.png into the 'Shopping Cart Button Image' field.
This is the image that will display as the 'Bill Me Later' button.
- Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/btn/btn_bml_text.png into the 'Shopping Cart Button Info Image' field.
This is the image for the PayPal Bill Me Later information button that will display under the 'Bill Me Later' button.
- Copy and paste https://www.securecheckout.billmelater.com/paycapture-content/fetch?hash=AU826TU8&content=/bmlweb/ppwpsiw.html in the 'Shopping Cart Info Action' field.
This is the information that the PayPal Bill Me Later information button will link to.
- If you also want to configure PayPal Express Checkout, complete the following:
- Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_xpressCheckout.gif into the 'Shopping Cart Button Image' field.
This is the image that will display as the 'Express Checkout' button. If this field is left blank, the button will not appear in AudienceView Online and PayPal Express Checkout will not be enabled.
- Select Supports Express Checkout from the 'Options' field.
- Select Supports Bill Me Later from the 'Options' field.
- Complete the remaining applicable fields.
