Commonly Modified Lists

 

Caution
A number of lists have been bound to fields in the Registry, the Utilities application and certain widgets. Changing the names of some of these lists (or creating alternate versions of the lists instead of updating the existing entries) can cause these bonds to break. These lists include (but are not limited to):
  • customer communication preferences
  • customer marketing preferences
  • associations
  • provinces
  • state_provinces
  • countries

The following table outlines a number of commonly modified lists and some of the reasons why.

List Where the Lists Appears/is Used Possible Reasons Why the List Would be Modified
Associations Numerous areas of the application. Associations can be assigned to customer accounts to identify the relationship between a customer and various aspects of your organization, so that customers can more accurately be targeted for marketing purposes. For example, by setting the 'Association' on a venue and some merchandise to Opera you can target those customers who purchased tickets to the opera and/or a related T-shirt with future opera offers. The same customers would not be targeted with Ballet offers unless they purchased something with a Ballet 'Association'.
The values entered in the 'Key' field of the Associations list must be in sequential, numeric order (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4).

By adding values to this list, your organization can added associations to customer accounts.
Customer Keywords Customer Services application Customer|Basic page 'Keywords' field Keywords can be assigned to customers via the Customer Services application Customer|Basic page, and customers can select them when they are creating/modifying an online account. The default values include various musical genres. These values may not apply to a theatre or sports arena.
By adding and modifying values in this list, keywords that are more specific to your organization can be selected by customers.
Customer Class Customer Services application Customer|Basic page 'Customer Class' field Customers can be assigned a Customer Class that can identify them as being part of a specific group or organization (e.g. Board Member, Corporate Sponsor, Press, School Group).
By adding values to this list, different classes of customers can be created (e.g. Staff Member, Alumni)
dataloader control file Utilities application Dataloader|Load page 'Control File' dropdown The dataloader control file list is used to identify/define the control files that are to be used with the dataloader.
By adding values to this list, different control files can be selected and used with the dataloader.

Link Name
  • Correspondence application Message|Build page when inserting a link
  • Content Management application Article|Text page when inserting a link
  • Business Intelligence and Report application Business Intelligence various pages (Correspondence BI queries using the Response Link Name criteria or a Customer BI queries using the Correspondence Response Link Name)
The Link Name list is used to categorize links within articles and correspondence messages.
By adding values to this list, different categorizations can be defined.
META Tags
  • Content Management application Sites|Applications page when inserting meta tags for a site
  • Content Management application Articles|Applications page when inserting meta tags for an article.
The META Tags list is used to define the types of meta tags that can be inserted into an article or site.
By adding values found at w3schools.com - meta name properties to this list, you can use additional meta tags.
Miscellaneous Membership Category
Miscellaneous Merchandise Category
Miscellaneous Other Category
Miscellaneous Passes Category
General Configuration application Miscellaneous Items|Details page 'Category' field (depending on what has been selected from the 'Type' dropdown. These four lists are used to create cateogries for each of the available miscellaneous items 'Types'.
By adding values to these lists, you can further categorize/group your miscellaneous items.
Modes
  • Registry application
  • Application Security application User|Attributes and Group|Attributes page
The modes list is used to define the applicable fields/nodes as 'Readable', 'Writeable', 'Unbound', 'Persistable', 'Optional' and 'Masked'.
To sort the fields in the order outlined above (the order that the fields appeared in past versions of AudienceView) set the 'Sort Options' dropdown on the General Configuration application List|Basic page for the modes list to Numeric Ascending by Key.

Note Type Anywhere that notes can be created within AudienceView. Each time that a note is created a Note Type must be assigned (e.g. Customer Complaint, Benefit).
By adding values to this list, different note types can be created (e.g. Compliments).
Note Statuses Anywhere that notes can be created within AudienceView. Notes can be assigned to members of your organization for various reasons. Selecting a Note Status identifies which stage of progress that the note is currently in (e.g. Not Started, In Progress, Completed, Waiting, Deferred).
By adding values to this list, different statuses can be used (e.g. Awaiting Approval).
Payment Method Types Anywhere that payment method types are used, including reports. When you have created a new payment type, the new payment type should be added to the payment method type list so that it can be reported on.
When you add the new payment type to the list, you must ensure that:
  • The value entered in the 'Key' field matches what was entered in the 'Node Name' field in the Registry
  • The value entered in the 'English' field matches what was entered in the 'Label' field in the Registry
Performance Keyword Venue Configuration application Performance|Basic page 'Keywords' field, if the list is bound to the field.

If the Performance Keyword list is bound to the Venue Configuration application Performance|Basic page 'Keywords' field it can be used to select applicable keywords for the performance (e.g. Classical, Rock, Elton, John)
By default, this list does not contain any entries.
Performance Types Anywhere that performance types are displayed. Performances can be assigned a Performance Type (e.g. Evening, Matinee).
By adding values to this list, different performance types can be used (e.g. Weekend, School Group).
Producer Groups General Configuration application Producer|Basic page Producers can be assigned to a Producer Groups  (e.g. if producers are part of a collective or organization).
By adding values to this list, different producer groups can be used.
Receipt Templates
  • Utilities application Pledges|Tax Receipts page
  • Business Intelligence and Reports application Business Intelligence|Results page
Mail merge tax receipt templates can be created (in Microsoft Word) and stored locally, so that customer information can be populated.

When a new tax receipt template has been created, it will need to be added to this list.
Report Folder List Business Intelligence and Reports application Saved Reports|Reports page Modified reports can be saved to specific folders to help classify and organize them.
By adding values to this list, different folders can be used.
Series Keyword Venue Configuration application Series|Basic page 'Keywords' field, if the list is bound to the field.

If the Series Keyword list is bound to the Venue Configuration application Performance|Basic page 'Keywords' field it can be used to select applicable keywords for the performance (e.g. Classical, Rock, Elton, John)
By default, this list does not contain any entries.
Service Charge Types Anywhere that charge types are listed. When charges are created, they are assigned a type. The default charge types are commission, Service Charge and Tax. Two other options, User Tax1 and User Tax2, are also available, but by default they are disabled.
By adding values to this list, different charge types will be available (e.g. Federal Tax, Provincial Tax).
Site URLs Correspondence application Message|Build page when using the various options under the 'Build Link' button. When building a link to a performance, bundle, article of miscellaneous item, you must select the desired base site URL of your website (main address/home page) from the 'Base Site URL' dropdown.
By adding values to this list, different base site URLs can be used.
short TSorderBO parameters General Configuration application Ticket|Elements page when entering 'Computed Values'. When creating a ticket template, computed values enable you to insert data from the order on to the ticket.
By renaming these values, selecting the correct options can be more intuitize depending on your organization's need.
Thank You Templates
  • Utilities application Pledges|Thank You Letters page
  • Business Intelligence and Reports application Business Intelligence|Results page
Mail merge thank you letter templates can be created (in Microsoft Word) and stored locally, so that customer information can be populated.For more information, refer to Tax Receipts and Thank You Letters.
When a new thank you letter template has been created, it will need to be added to this list.
Transaction Type In the 'Payment Transaction Type' in the Payments dialog box when 'Add Payment' is clicked on the Customer Services application Order|Summary page. To enable the Payment Authorization functionality (using payment gateways that support it), the Authorize option must be enabled on the General Configuration application List|Entries page.
