This section provides details on configuring AudienceView to interface with a third party access control and printing system. By default, AudienceView is preloaded to work with Fortress. The following instructions use Fortress as an example, but AudienceView can interface with many third party systems.
To configure AudienceView to work with Fortress, complete the following:
- Configure the Fortress gateway. You need to specify the location of the web service AudienceView should use when communicating with Fortress. You can do this by specifying the web service’s URL within the Fortress Gateway’s URL key. The key is located in the Registry application System::Configuration::Gateways::Fortress node.
For more information, refer to Configuring Fortress Gateways.
- Configure a ticket stock to be used when printing to Fortress. You need to define a type of ticket stock (usually card stock) to represent the pass cards that will be printed from Fortress. You can to this by adding an entry to the stock list in General Configuration application Lists|Entries.
For more information, refer to Configuring Fortress Stock.
- Configure the printers AudienceView should use when printing Fortress-compatible passes. You need to configure the printers that represent the Fortress printers that will be printing the pass cards. You can do this by creating new printer nodes in Registry application System::Configuration::Printers node.
For more information, refer to Configuring Fortress Printers.
- Configure the delivery methods that AudienceView should use for providing customers with Fortress-compatible passes and tickets. You need to configure delivery methods that, when used, indicate that the items on the order should be sent to Fortress for printing. You can do this using the General Configuration application Delivery Methods|Basic page.
For more information, refer to Configuring Fortress Delivery Methods.
- Configure AudienceView tickets for scanning by Fortress-compatible devices. If you are printing single tickets in AudienceView with Fortress barcodes on them, you need to configure ticket templates. You can do this using the General Configuration application Tickets|Basic page.
For more information, refer to Configuring AudienceView Ticket Templates with Fortress Barcodes.
- Configure AudienceView passes for printing and scanning by Fortress-compatible devices. You need to configure the passes that will be printed through Fortress. This is a two-step process that includes creating the pass ticket template and then the pass itself.
For more information, refer to Configuring Fortress Passes.
- Configure performances and bundles. You need to create the performances and bundles that will be printed to Fortress. You can do this using the Venue Configuration and Product Configuration application.
For more information, refer to Venue Configuration - Series and Product Configuration - Bundles.
There are some extra steps that must be followed for AudienceView to print single tickets properly. For more information, refer to Configuring Fortress Performances and Bundles.
- Add the Fortress-compatible passes and tickets to the corresponding performances, bundles, and miscellaneous items. You need to attach the Fortress-compatible tickets and passes to the bundles and performances that you want to print through Fortress. You also need to attach the passes to any miscellaneous items you want to sell in order to provide customers with passes. You can do this using the Product Configuration application Bundles|Details, Venue Configuration application Performances|Basic and Product Configuration application Miscellaneous Items|Details pages.
For more information, refer to Adding Fortress Tickets and Passes to Performances, Bundles and Miscellaneous Items.
- Exclude performances, if necessary. If there are any performances that you do not want to go through the gateway (i.e. do not want to print in Fortress), you need to indicate them on the Fortress gateway node. You can do this using by adding the performance’s code in the on the Fortress gateway node in Registry application System::Configuration::Gateways::Fortress node 'Excluded Performances' field.
For more information, refer to Excluding Performances from Fortess.
