By default in AudienceView, a Fortress gateway is provided. AudienceView uses this gateway to communicate with Fortress-enabled devices, such as pass printers and ticket scanners. You need to configure the gateway to point to the Fortress web service.
To configure a Fortress gateway, complete the following:
- Open the Registry application from the AudienceView Desktop.
- Navigate to the System::Configuration::Gateways::Fortress node.
- Specify the location of the Fortress web service in the 'URL' field.

- Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the application updated the Registry.
- Click 'OK'.

The Fortress gateway is preloaded by default with the init string, but this field is blank when creating new nodes. If you are creating a new Fortress node, the default init string value is available in the input_string.xml file in the Libs/Fortress directory in your build. |

If you are pasting the contents of the input_string.xml file in the init string field, you need to click in the field and hit ENTER before pasting the data. Otherwise, you will only be able to paste the first line. |
