Creating a Block of Seats


Before you begin adding seats to a screen, ensure that you have reviewed the Adding Seats to a Screen page.

The following steps define how to create a block of seats on a created screen:

  1. Open the Venue Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
    The Venue|Search page appears.
  2. Search for and select the venue that you want to work with. For more information, refer to the Venue Configuration Venue-Search Page and Performing Searches.
    The Venue|Basic page appears.
  3. Select the Seats tab.
    The Venue|Seats page appears.
  4. Select the screen to which you want to add seats from the 'screen seats' dropdown.
  5. Select the Create Block toolbar button from the Seats Toolbar.

  6. Position the cursor in the approximate location where you are going to add the block of seats.
  7. Click and drag towards the bottom right of the block that you are creating. An outline illustrates where the group of seats will be placed.
    Once you release the mouse button, a green box appears on the screen. There are several anchors on the image that you can use to adjust the size of the block. Double-clicking the block will give you additional adjustment options, as described in the image below.
    Do not create blocks of seats in quantities greater than 500. Doing so could cause the screen to freeze or cause the system to crash.

    A number of fields appear in the group detail section located to the right of the screen.

  8. In the group detail section, complete the information about the seats in this block. For more information, refer to Seats Group Detail Section.
    Keep in mind that you can select any number of seats later on and edit their fields. Sometimes it is easiest to create a large group of seats at once and add, delete and edit a few seats afterwards.
    The 'Update Changes' button is only available once you have completed all of the mandatory fields.
  9. Click 'Update Changes'.
    The screen updates with the seats you specified.
  10. At this stage, you can still make changes to any of the Group Detail fields and move or adjust the shape of the block. Click 'Update Changes' to apply and view your changes. For more information, refer to Moving One or More Seats, Resizing a Block of Seats, Rotating a Block of Seats.
    If the seats do not fit or are too small to be used (clickable or readable), you may have to go back and adjust the X and Y size on the Venue|Basic page.
  11. Once you have successfully created the block of seats and placed the seats in the desired formation, click 'OK'.
    The application updates your changes.
  12. Click 'Apply'.
    A window confirms that the application updated the venue.
  13. Click 'OK'.
  14. Continue adding seats to the venue as required.
