You can create a new promotion by entering the basic type, payment gateway, and ticket template information into the Promotions|Details page. Once created, you can associate the promotion to delivery methods just like all other payment methods. For more information, refer to Product Configuration - Promotions|Details Page.
To create a new promotion, complete the following:
- Open the Product Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
- Click on the Promotions tab.
The Promotions|Search page appears.
- Click 'Create New'.
The Promotions|Details page appears.
- Enter the details of the promotion:
- Promotion Code: The name you want to give the promotion. (e.g. OnlinePromo).
- Promotion Description: A description for the promotion. This is not published to the end user (e.g. Promotion for Online Sales).
- Promotion Short Description: A short description for the promotion. This is not published to the end user and could be used to store an internal code describing the promotion (e.g. PROMO0001).
- Promotion Access Code: The name of the access code that will be associated with the promotion (e.g. OnlinePromo_1). If there is an access code associated with the promotion then the the access code must be entered on the order to expose the associated promotion (e.g. an online user would enter a promotion access code to activate it).

It is possible to create promotions that use multiple single-use access codes, allowing you to better track the use of the promotion through Business Intelligence. To create a single-use promotion, complete this process, and then refer to Adding Single-Use Access Codes to a Promotion. |
- Article: Links an article to the promotion. When a customer enters a 'Promotion Access Code' online, a link to the article will appear below it. The article can be configured to display the benefits that the 'Promotion Access Code' grants the customer.

to search for the article. For more information, refer to The Find Articles Dialog box.

- Starting Date: The date that the promotion became/becomes valid. If you do not enter a date, the application will use the current date.

- Ending Date: The date that the promotion expires/expired.

Use caution when assigning an end date. Once the date has passed, the promotion cannot be used again. This can also prevent updating or copying a price chart if, for example, the promotion assigned to a price chart expires before the price chart does.
- Min. Seats: The minimum number of seats that can be purchased using the promotion.
- Max. Seats: The maximum number of seats that can be purchased using the promotion.
- Increment: The increments of tickets that can be purchased with the promotion (e.g. if the promotion is for a 2 for 1 sale then the 'Increment' field would be set to 2).
- Max. Admissions Per Customer: The maximum number of tickets which each customer can purchase or possess.
- Delivery Method: The delivery method used with the promotion.
To select more than one delivery method, hold CTRL or SHIFT while making your selections.
- Payment Method: The payment method used with the promotion.

- If you want to use the stored data values against your promotion and use BI to retrieve information against them, enter the appropriate information in the data fields in the promotional code data field:
- Data 1-8: Text fields
- Multidata 1-2: Multiple data entry fields
- Click 'Create'.
A window confirms that the application created the promotion.
- Click 'OK'.
