Managing AudienceView's Ability to Use Google Analytics - Correspondence

You can enable or disable AudienceView's integration with Google Analytics in the Application Security application.

To enable or disable the integration with the Correspondence application and Google Analytics, complete the following:

  1. Open the Application Security application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Group tab.
    The Group|Search page appears.
  3. Search for and select the Administration group. For more information, refer to the Application Security Group-Search Page and Performing Searches.
    The Group|Basic page appears.
  4. Select the Content tab.
    The Group|Content page appears.
  5. Select the Correspondence property.
The assign content box for the Correspondence property displays.
  6. To enable Google Analytics, hold CTRL and click and highlight the Analytics entry.
Enabling the Analytics property without Enabling Google Analytics Globally may cause some errors when customers attempt to click on links that have been included in a message.
  7. To disable Google Analytics, hold CTRL and click and deselect the Analytics entry.
  8. Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the application has updated the group.
  9. Click 'OK'.
As of AudienceView 6.3.4, once Analytics has been enabled for the Correspondence application, the following four Google Analytics related fields will appear when you are inserting a link into a message:
  • Campaign: Enter the name of the email marketing campaign (e.g. Fall 2013 Newletter)
  • Content: Enter a brief description of the content of the email (e.g. 20%-off Fall 2013 Events)
  • Medium: Enter the medium used to communicate with customers. In most cases this will be Email.
  • Source: Enter the name of the company/list used to send the email to customers. This is particularly important if your organization also uses an outside email marketing company.
For more information about inserting links into messages, refer to Building Links to Performances, Bundles, Articles and Miscellaneous Items in a Message.
