- Created roles to which the user will be assigned. If these have not been created, you can assign them at any time, but users will not be able to use the application without a role.
For more information, refer to Creating a Role.
- Created groups to which the user will be assigned. If these have not been created, you can assign them at any time, but groups define what the user can do within the application.

Information
No more than 1,000 users can be assigned to a particular role. |
If you select multiple roles, users will have to specify which role to use when they login to AudienceView. You can change the user’s preferences using the User|Preferences page. For more information refer to Setting Preferences for the Role.
- Click '>>' to move the selection(s) to the Assigned Roles list.
You can remove a role by highlighting the role in the Assigned Roles list and clicking '<<'.
- Enter additional data to be captured for your organization’s needs in the user data section.
The data fields enable you to add additional information specific to your organization. Any data entered into these fields is searchable through Business Intelligence. The Multidata fields are used for multiple entry responses. You can create additional entry fields by clicking the
icon once you have made an entry in a field.
If you want to use the data fields and want to change a label, Navigate to the Registry application Registry::Business Objects::TSuserBO::User node and select the appropriate field you want to re-label.
- Click 'Create'.
A window confirms that the application created the user.
- Click 'OK'.
The user will now have the preference settings from the user’s role(s) and the combined permissions, attributes and content settings from the group(s). You can modify the user’s settings, such as changing their preferences and/or modifying permissions:
- If you modify the preferences for the user, they are always used instead of the role’s preferences.
- If permissions, attributes and content management settings are applied to both the user and group, users are given the combined settings. Therefore, what functions the user is allowed to perform and what parts of the application the user has access are the sum of the user and group settings. The only exception is for permission filtering where if filters are applied at the user level and not at the group level, the user’s settings are always used. If a user belongs to multiple groups with different levels of permission, users are again given the combined settings.
For more information on working with permissions, attributes and content settings, refer to Configuring User Permissions, Attributes and Content.
For more information on working with preferences, refer to Setting Preferences for the Role.
