Inserting the Google+ +1 Button Widget

Warning
Do not insert widgets within the form of an article. An error will cause the article to not appear Online.

To build and insert the Google+ +1 Button Widget, complete the following:

  1. Open the Content Management application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Articles tab.
    The Articles|Search page appears.
  3. Search for and select the article that you want to work with. For more information, refer to Content Management Articles|Search Page and Performing Searches.
    The Articles|Basic page appears.
  4. Select the Text tab.
    The Articles|Text page appears.
  5. Click 'Insert Widget'.
  6. Select Google+ +1 Button Widget from the dropdown.
    The Google+ +1 Button Widget dialog box appears:
  7. Complete the following fields:
    • css ID: Enter any applicable CSS ID information (with no spaces) in this field.
    • css Class: Enter any applicable CSS class information (with no spaces) in this field.
    • css Style: Enter any applicable CSS styles that you want to apply to the Google+ +1 Button widget (e.g. background:blue,color:white).

    • Alignment (left by default): Determines whether the Google+ +\1 button will appear on the left or the right of the page.
    • Page URL (this by default): Enter/paste the URL of the page that you want the button to refer to.
    • Recommendations (true by default): Enter false to not display recommendations. By default, this field is set to true.
    • Annotation (bubble by default): Determines what is displayed next to the Google+ +1 button:
      • none: No additional information is displayed next to the Google+ +1 button.
      • bubble: The number of users who have clicked the Google+ +1 button is displayed in a bubble next to the button. Where the bubble appears is determined by the 'Expand to Direction' field.
      • inline: The profile pictures and the number of users who have clicked the Google+ +1 button are displayed next to the button. Where the bubble appears is determined by the 'Expand to Direction' field.
    • Size (standard by default): Determines the size of the Google+ +1 button:
      • small
      • medium
      • standard
      • tall
    • Title: Enter the name that you want to appear for the Google+ +1 button.
    • Expand to Direction: Determines the position of the hover text and confirmation bubbles relative to the Google+ +1 button:
      • top: The text and bubble will appear above the Google+ +1 button.
      • right: The text and bubble will appear to the right of the Google+ +1 button.
      • bottom: The text and bubble will appear below the Google+ +1 button.
      • left: The text and bubble will appear to the left of the Google+ +1 button.
    • Width: The width of the button defined in pixels.

  8. Click 'Insert Widget'.
    The Google+ +1 Button widget is inserted in the article text.
  9. Click 'Apply'
    A window confirms that the application updated the article.
  10. Click 'OK'.

To change any of the labels that appear in the Configure Parameters for Google+ +1 Button Widget dialog box, navigate to the Registry application Registry::EN::Application::Content Management::Widgets::Google+ +1 Button Widget node.
