Modifying the WebSales User Account Password Expiry Date

If the password for your WebSales user group expires, customers will not be able to access your website. By setting an expiry date far into the future (e.g. 50 years), you will ensure that your customers will be able to access your website without you having to frequently update the password expiry date.

To change the password expiry date for WebSales users, first check to see when the password expires:

  1. Open the Application Security application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Users tab.
    The Users|Search page appears.
  3. Search for and select the WebSales user. For more information, refer to Application Security Users-Search Page and Performing Searches.
    The Users|Basic page appears.
  4. In the user details section, check the 'Password Expires on' field to see when the password expires.
  5. Modify the expiry date. If you do not want the password to expire, set the date to sometime far into the future.
    Hint
If the 'Password Expires on' field is read-only, refer to Making the User 'Password Expires on' Field Writeable.
    Information
If the number of 'Failed login attempts' is greater than the 'Number of allowed failed login attempts', then click 'Unlock User'.
  6. Click 'Apply'.
