Creating a PayPal Payment Method (AudienceView 6.3.7)

Before You Begin

Before creating a PayPal payment method, ensure you have:

  • Created roles to have access to the payment method. If these have not been created, you can assign them at any time. For more information, refer to Creating a Role.
  • Created a ticket template, if applicable. If this has not been created, you can assign it at any time.
  • Ensure that you have your organization's PayPal merchant account information, particularly the user/vendor name and password.

Creating a PayPal Payment Method (with or without PayPal Express Checkout)

Once you create a PayPal payment method it can be assigned to a performance and be used throughout AudienceView.

To create a new PayPal payment method, complete the following:

  1. Open the General Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Payment Methods tab.
    The Payment Methods|Search page appears.
  3. Click 'Create New'.
    The Payment Methods|Basic page appears.
  4. Enter PayPal in the 'Name' field.
  5. Select PayPal from the 'Type' dropdown.
  6. Select PayPal from the 'Gateway' dropdown.
  7. Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/i/buttons/pp-acceptance-large.png into the 'Logo' field.
  8. If you also want to configure PayPal Express Checkout, compete the following:
    1. Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_xpressCheckout.gif into the 'Shopping Cart Button Image' field.
      This is the image that will display as the 'Express Checkout' button. If this field is left blank, the button will not appear in AudienceView Online and PayPal Express Checkout will not be enabled.
  9. Select Supports Express Checkout from the 'Options' field.
  10. Complete the remaining applicable fields.
    For more information, refer to General Configuration Payment Method-Basic Page.
    Caution
    Once you save the payment method, you cannot modify the 'Type' field.
  11. Click 'Create'.
    A window confirms that the application created the payment method.
  12. Click 'OK'.
    Hint
    If the PayPal Payment Gateway is already in use/has already been configured, you do not need to take any further action.
    If the PayPal payment gateway has not been configured, proceed to Step 12.
  13. Open the Registry application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  14. Navigate to the System::Configuration::Payment Gateways::PayPal node.
  15. Ensure that https://payflowpro.paypal.com/ appears in the 'Host URL' field.
  16. Ensure that PayPal is entered in the 'Partner' field.
  17. Enter the user/vendor name associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'User' and 'Vendor' fields.
  18. Click 'Set Password'.
  19. Enter the password associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'New Password' field.
  20. Enter the password associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'Re-type New Password' field.

  21. Click 'Apply'.
    A window confirms that the application updated the Registry.
  22. Click 'OK'.

Creating a PayPal Bill Me Later Payment Method

Caution
PayPal Bill Me Later is only applicable if the default currency is set to use US dollars (USD) in the Registry application System::Configuration::Currencies node.

Once you create a PayPal payment method with Express Checkout, you can create it a PayPal Bill Me Later payment method.

To create a new PayPal payment method, complete the following:

  1. Open the General Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Payment Methods tab.
    The Payment Methods|Search page appears.
  3. Click 'Create New'.
    The Payment Methods|Basic page appears.
  4. Enter PayPal in the 'Name' field.
  5. Select PayPal from the 'Type' dropdown.
  6. Select PayPal from the 'Gateway' dropdown.
  7. Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/btn/btn_bml_SM.png into the 'Shopping Cart Button Image' field.
    This is the image that will display as the 'Bill Me Later' button.
  8. Copy and paste https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/btn/btn_bml_text.png into the 'Shopping Cart Button Info Image' field.
    This is the image for the PayPal Bill Me Later information button that will display under the 'Bill Me Later' button.
  9. Copy and paste https://www.securecheckout.billmelater.com/paycapture-content/fetch?hash=AU826TU8&content=/bmlweb/ppwpsiw.html in the 'Shopping Cart Info Action' field.
    This is the information that the PayPal Bill Me Later information button will link to.
  10. Select Supports Bill Me Later and Supports Express Checkout from the 'Options' field.
  11. Complete the remaining applicable fields.
    For more information, refer to General Configuration Payment Method-Basic Page.
    Caution
    Once you save the payment method, you cannot modify the 'Type' field.
  12. Click 'Create'.
    A window confirms that the application created the payment method.
  13. Click 'OK'.
