Creating a PayPal Payment Method

Before You Begin

Before creating a PayPal payment method, ensure you have:

  • Created roles to have access to the payment method. If these have not been created, you can assign them at any time.
    For more information, refer to Application Security Roles.
  • Created a ticket template, if applicable. If this has not been created, you can assign it at any time.
    For more information, refer to General Configuration Tickets.
  • Ensure that you have your organization's PayPal account information, particularly the user/vendor name and password.

Creating a PayPal Payment Method

Once you create a PayPal payment method it can be assigned to a performance and be used throughout AudienceView.

To create a new PayPal payment method, complete the following:

  1. Open the General Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Payment Methods tab.
    The Payment Methods|Search page appears.
  3. Click 'Create New'.
    The Payment Methods|Basic page appears.
  4. Enter PayPal in the 'Name' field.
  5. Select PayPal from the 'Type' dropdown.
  6. Select PayPal from the 'Gateway' dropdown.
  7. Complete the remaining applicable fields.
    For more information, refer to General Configuration Payment Method-Basic Page.
    Caution
    Once you save the payment method, you cannot modify the 'Type' field.
  8. Click 'Create'.
    A window confirms that the application created the payment method.
  9. Click 'OK'.
    Hint
    If the PayPal Payment Gateway is already in use/has already been configured, you do not need to take any further action.
    If the PayPal payment gateway has not been configured, proceed to Step 10.
  10. Open the Registry application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  11. Navigate to the System::Configuration::Payment Gateways::PayPal node.
  12. Ensure that https://payflowpro.paypal.com/ appears in the 'Host URL' field.
  13. Ensure that PayPal is entered in the 'Partner' field.
  14. Enter the user/vendor name associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'User' and 'Vendor' fields.
  15. Click 'Set Password'.
  16. Enter the password associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'New Password' field.
  17. Enter the password associated with your organization's PayPal account in the 'Re-type New Password' field.

  18. Click 'Apply'.
    A window confirms that the application updated the Registry.
  19. Click 'OK'.
Information
When customers use PayPal to complete an order, they must enter their email addresses in a required field. Ensure that this field label is not changed from 'Email Address'. This label can be found in the Registry application Registry::EN::Business Objects::TSpaymentMethodBO::Payment Types::PayPal::Email Address node.
