Creating a Price Chart

 

Before You Begin

Before you can create a price chart, ensure you have:

Creating a Price Chart

To create a new price chart, complete the following:

  1. Open the Venue Configuration application from the AudienceView Desktop.
  2. Select the Price Charts tab.
    The Price Charts|Search page appears.
  3. Click 'Create New'.
    The Price Charts|Basic page appears.
  4. Enter a name that best describes the new price chart in the 'Name' field.
  5. Enter a description to identify the type of chart being created in the 'Description' field.
  6. Enter a short description to identify the type of chart being created in the 'Short Description' field.
  7. Select the price zones that you want to associate to the price chart in the price zones section.
    To select more than one price zone, hold CTRL or SHIFT while making your selections.
  8. Select the Pricing tab.
    The Price Chart|Pricing page appears.
  9. Click 'Add Price Row'.
    A new price row appears.
  10. Select the price types that you want to associate with the price chart from the 'Price Types' field.
    To select more than one price type, hold CTRL or SHIFT while making your selections.
  11. Select the roles that you want to associate with the price chart from the 'Roles' field.
    To select more than one role, hold CTRL or SHIFT while making your selections.
  12. If you want to grant access to the pricing using a promotional code, enter the code in the 'Promotion Code' field or click to search for the code. For more information, refer to The Find Promotion Codes Dialog Box.
    The selected promotional code will display in the 'Promotion Code' field.
    1. If the promotional code does not have an access code, only those customers with a benefit that has the associated promotional code will be able to access the pricing.
    2. If the promotional code has an access code, customers or box office staff must enter the access code to access the pricing.
  13. Enter the monetary value of a single admission for each applicable price zone in the 'Price Zones' fields.
    Hint
    Each price row must have a unique combination of 'Price Types', 'Roles' and 'Promotion Code' selected.
  14. For every price row that you want to add to the price chart, repeat the process from Step 9.
  15. Select the Charges tab.
    The Price Chart|Charges page appears.
  16. Click 'Add Charge Row'.
    A new charge row appears.
  17. Select the charge that you would like to add from the 'Charge' dropdown menu.
  18. Select the price types that you would like to apply the charge to from the 'Price Types' field.
    To select more than one price type, hold CTRL or SHIFT while making your selections.
  19. If you want to associate a promotional code with the charge, enter the code in the 'Promotion Code' field or click to search for the code.
    For more information, refer to The Find Promotion Codes Dialog Box.
  20. Select the charge calculation that you would like to use from the 'Calculation' dropdown menu.
    • Order: The charge is raised at the order level for each admission triggering the charge until the limit is reached, if a limited has been defined.
    • Performance: The charge is raised at the performance level for each admission triggering the charge until the limit is reached, if a limit has been defined.
    • Additional Ticket: The charge is raised at the admission level in addition to the price of the admission.
    • Included Ticket: The charge is raised at the admission level. The charge is calculated on the net value of the item either as a fixed amount or a percentage rate that contributes to the amount of the item.
    • Inside Ticket: The charge is raised at the admission level. The charge is calculated on the amount of that item either as a fixed amount or percentage rate that contributes to the amount of the item.
      Hint
      Each price row must have a unique combination of 'Charge', 'Price Types' and 'Promotion Code' selected.
  21. For every charge that you want to add to the price chart, repeat the process from Step 16.
  22. Select the Assignments tab.
    The Price Chart|Assignments page appears.
  23. Click 'Add Performance'
    A new performance row appears.
  24. Enter the performances that you would like to assign to the price chart in the 'Performance' field or click to search for the performance(s).

  25. Enter a start date in the 'Start Date' field or click to select a date.
    For more information, refer to Using a Calendar to Add a Date.
  26. Enter an end date in the 'End Date' field or click to select a date.
    For more information, refer to Using a Calendar to Add a Date.
  27. For every performance row that you want to add, repeat the process from Step 23.
    Caution
    A price chart cannot be deleted if it is currently assigned to performances.
  28. Click 'Create'.
    A window confirms that the application created the price chart.
  29. Click 'OK'.
Hint
You can save the price chart at any point throughout the creation process by clicking 'Create'. To save changes afterwards press 'Apply'.
