Online users who forget their password have two options:
- Recover the password using online sales. This procedure is performed by the user and does not require the assistance of a customer service representative. This procedure is described below.
- Reset the password using the Customer Services application.
For more information, refer to Resetting Online User Passwords.
| Hint If a user’s account is locked because the allowed number of failed log-in attempts has been exceeded, the user must contact a customer service representative to have the account unlocked. For more information, refer to Unlocking an Online User Account. |
When users recover their password, AudienceView assigns and emails users a new, randomly generated password. Once users successfully log in using this password, they will be prompted to enter a new password. Since the password is emailed, the user’s online account must have a valid email address. This email address is also used to verify the account.
For users to recover their password using online sales they must complete the following:
- In an Internet browser, browse to your online sales site.
- Click 'My Account' located at the top of the page.
The Login page appears.
- Click the link 'Forgot Password?'.
The Forgot Password page appears.
- Complete the 'Username' and 'Email Address' fields.
The email address must match the one saved in the online user's account.
- Click 'Recover Password'.
A window confirms that a new password has been sent to the email address.
- Log in with the new password.
