Recovering Online User Passwords

Online users who forget their password have two options:

  • Recover the password using online sales. This procedure is performed by the user and does not require the assistance of a customer service representative. This procedure is described below.
  • Reset the password using the Customer Services application.
For more information, refer to Resetting Online User Passwords.
Hint
If a user’s account is locked because the allowed number of failed log-in attempts has been exceeded, the user must contact a customer service representative to have the account unlocked. For more information, refer to Unlocking an Online User Account.

When users recover their password, AudienceView assigns and emails users a new, randomly generated password. Once users successfully log in using this password, they will be prompted to enter a new password. Since the password is emailed, the user’s online account must have a valid email address. This email address is also used to verify the account.

For users to recover their password using online sales they must complete the following:

  1. In an Internet browser, browse to your online sales site.
  2. Click 'My Account' located at the top of the page.
    The Login page appears.
  3. Click the link 'Forgot Password?'.
    The Forgot Password page appears.
  4. Complete the 'Username' and 'Email Address' fields.
The email address must match the one saved in the online user's account.
  5. Click 'Recover Password'.
A window confirms that a new password has been sent to the email address.
  6. Log in with the new password.
For more information, refer to Logging Into AudienceView Online.
