Configuring AudienceView Online Roles

Defining Online Roles

If you have multiple sites within AudienceView Online, you might define a separate internet role for every site. For more information, refer to Managing Sites.

However, you can also create new internet roles, to restrict the users that can view particular events, bundles, performances, fundraising programs or miscellaneous items.

To define an additional internet role, complete the following:

  1. Create a new role for your online customers.
You can do this using the Application Security application Roles pages. For more information, refer to Creating a Role.
  2. Associate this new role with the appropriate users.
You can do this using the assign users section of the Application Security application Roles|Basic page.
  3. Enable online users to view events, performances and bundles.
For more information, refer to Configuring Internet Roles.

Configuring Internet Roles

For users to view events, bundles and fundraising programs using AudienceView Online, you must associate their role with the corresponding producer, event, bundle or fundraising program. By default, all online users are assigned to the Internet role.

Caution
Any events, bundles or fundraising programs associated with the Internet role are visible to anyone who accesses AudienceView Online. If you want to restrict the online users that can view certain events, you can do this by associating them with an alternate online role.

To configure internet roles complete the following:

  1. Enable online users to view available bundles.
You can do this using the Product Configuration application Bundles|Calendar page, for the bundle you are making visible to online users.
For more information, refer to Using Bundles.
  2. Enable online users to view available series’ events.
You can do this using the Venue Configuration application Series|Calendar page, for the series you are making visible to online users.
For more information, refer to Creating a Series.
  3. Enable online users to view select events.
You can do this using the Venue Configuration application Performances|Calendar page, for the events you are making visible to online users.
For more information, refer to Creating a Performance.
  4. Enable online users to view fundraising programs.
You can do this using the program calendar section of the Funds Management application Programs|Details page, for the fundraising programs you are making visible to online users.
For more information, refer to Funds Management Programs.
  5. Enable online users to view miscellaneous items.
You can do this using the program calendar section of the Product Configuration application Miscellaneous Items|Calendar page, for the miscellaneous items you are making visible to online users.
For more information, refer to Adding a Miscellaneous Item to the Calendar.
Anyone who accesses your AudienceView Online site can now view these bundles, events, fundraising programs, and miscellaneous items. However, they cannot purchase these items until they login.
