You can configure the default expiry date for gift certificates and gift cards. If users have permission, they can overwrite this default.

Caution In some places, it is illegal for gift certificates/cards to have an expiry date. Consult with your accounting team regarding your organization's situation.

To set the default gift certificate and gift card expiry date, complete the following:

1. Navigate to the Registry application System::Business Objects::TSorderBO node.
   For more information on this category, refer to Configuring Currencies and Conversion Rates.
2. Enter a relative date in the giftCert timeout field or click  to select a relative date.
   For more information, refer to Using Relative Dates and Times.
3. Click 'Apply'.
   A window confirms that the application updated the Registry.
4. Click 'OK'.
