Configuring Online and Mobile Sales

By default, all registered Online/Mobile users can select tickets, and miscellaneous items to purchase. However, by default they cannot select seats directly from your venue’s seat map, make purchases using particular payment gateways, or obtain gift certificates or gift cards. This chapter provides details on configuring these parameters.

To enable registered AudienceView Online/Mobile customers to make purchases:

  1. If not already set, add Internet to the list of roles that can purchase events, bundles, performances, gift certificates, gift cards or miscellaneous items.

  2. Configure gift certificates and gift cards so that they are visibile using AudienceView Online.

  3. Set the default Online gift certificate and gift card templates. To do this, define the Gift Certificate: Printing Format rule for the WebSalesApplication Security application Group|Attributes page TSgiftCertificateBO property.

  4. If required, configure an Online/Mobile terminal for your payment gateway.

  5. Optionally, enable 3-D Secure for Online/Mobile payments.

  6. Optionally, enable Online/Mobile users to view your venue’s seat map.
    For more information, refer to Displaying Seat Maps in AudienceView Online.
  7. Optionally, enable registered Online users to purchase seats directly from your venue’s seat map (not currently available for Mobile).

  8. Optionally, configure the seat availability indicators (e.g. Excellent, Good) that display on the default.asp page.

  9. Optionally, configure images to display next to delivery methods on loginDelivery.asp.

  10. Optionally, enhance your customer’s ability to find particular performances. To do this, add keywords or phrases to a performance, using the Venue Configuration application Performances| Basic page 'Keywords' field.

  11. Optionally, display performance-specific images, or include additional performance-specific information. To do this use the the Venue Configuration application Series|Basic and Performance|Basic pages' 'Pop-up Message', 'Additional Info', 'Logo 1' or 'Logo 2' fields.

  12. Optionally, make recommendations as to other performances or series a customer might be interested in purchasing.

  13. Optionally, display Featured Articles on the landing page.

  14. Optionally, display Recent Items on the landing page.

  15. Optionally, display a list of links on the landing page.

  16. Optionally, allow users to add performances to social networking tools (e.g. Facebook, Delicious, Digg) from either the seatSelect.asp or mapSelect.asp page. When a user selects to add a performance to one of these social networking tools, AudienceView sends the performance's additional information (configured in the 'Additional Info' field in the performance URLs section of Venue Configuration application Performances|Basic).

  17. Optionally, enable scalper prevention to prevent the unfair use of automated programs from using online sales.

  18. Optionally, allow customers to purchase tickets without creating a customer account, you must select the Customers Without Account content option from the Application Security application Group|Content page Online property.
  19. Optionally, you can enable the upsell and add-on article pop-ups for Online/Mobile customers (as well as Desktop users)

  20. Optionally, you can allow customers to create and send orders as gifts.

The following sections describe how to configure AudienceView Online/Mobile sales. Some of the functionality is currently only available for AudienceView Online, and is called out as such.
