Credit Card Troubleshooting

The following table describes troubleshooting for common credit card failures. If you encounter a situation not described in this table, ask your system administrator for assistance.

Debit terminal indicates invalid card.
If the customer wants to try again or use a different debit card, click 'Create' or 'Apply' again.
If you need to enter a different card type, select the 'Delete' check box next to the payment and click 'Update Details' to delete the payment. Start over with a new payment.
Transaction declined due to incorrect P.I.N. Message Sale payment failed! Please check your transactions. 205 Not complete DECLINE
Debit terminal indicates wrong P.I.N.
If the customer wants to try again or use a different debit card, click 'Create' or 'Apply' again.
If you need to enter a different card type, select the 'Delete' check box next to the payment and click 'Update Details' to delete the payment. Start over with a new payment.
Customer does not swipe card soon enough after 'Create' or 'Apply' is selected. Message Sale payment failed! Please check your transactions. 798 Please retry DECLINE 'Create' or 'Apply' again.
Transaction declined due to insufficient funds Message S11ale payment failed! Please check your transactions. 95 Not complete DECLINE
Debit terminal indicates insufficient funds.
If the customer thinks it should have been approved and wants to try again or if he/she wants to use a different debit card, click 'Create' or 'Apply' again.
If you need to enter a different card type, select the 'Delete' check box next to the payment and click 'Update Details' to delete the payment. Start over with a new payment.
Transaction approved none - amount due is adjusted and payment section is minimized Approved -##### [authorization code] none, continue creating order
Transaction declined, pending call for authorization Message Sale payment failed! Please check your transactions. Call for Auth Call for authorization. If you get authorization, manually enter the authorization code in the 'Authorization Code' field and select 'Create' or 'Apply'.
Transaction failed due to expired card Message Sale payment failed! Please check your transactions. Invalid Exp. Date DECLINE Check that you entered the expiry date correctly. If the card has expired, you will need a different card from the customer.
Transaction failed due to invalid card number Message Sale payment failed! Please check your transactions. Mismatch Account Type DECLINE Correct the card number and select 'Create' or 'Apply'.
If you need to enter a different card type, select the 'Delete' check box next to the payment and select 'Update Details' to delete the payment. Start over with a new payment.
Transaction failed due to incomplete data The payment request is incomplete. none Complete the required data and select 'Create' or 'Apply'.
Customer starts to use debit terminal, but does not enter all required information leaves it unfinished. No response from the payment gateway. none Click 'Create' or 'Apply' again.
